New Patients
What to Expect
When entering our modern and spacious practice, you will be greeted warmly by our front reception staff. You will also be required to fill-in some patient paperwork (which you can also do before your appointment by downloading the forms online):
Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment if you choose to complete the paperwork in our office. These forms allow our health professionals to learn more about your concerns, as well as your medical history, so they can treat you effectively.
Please bring the following information to your first appointment, if available:
- Names of any medications and supplements you are taking
- A record of any surgeries or conditions
- Any relevant reports or films
Although patients aren’t required to change into a gown for their appointments, we advise that you wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Your First Appointment
Dr Liam Welfar (Chiropractor) will begin by chatting to you about your concerns, as well as what you hope to achieve from our treatment. After this informative and friendly chat, he will then perform a thorough physical assessment and evaluation of your overall health. This includes an orthopaedic and neurological examination, as well as spine and postural assessment.
Although we don’t perform digital imagery (such as x-rays) on-site, we can refer you to get one if necessary. After the physical assessment, Dr Liam will then discuss his findings, including what treatment options may be most beneficial. We like to work in closely with the patient to reach a treatment plan that is both effective and comfortable for the patient.
If the issue isn’t too complex, our chiropractor will then provide some treatment in the first appointment, usually in the form of chiropractic adjustment and soft tissue therapy.
Your Second Appointment
After you’ve received some treatment, Dr Liam can then assess you again to determine any improvements or changes in your condition. Your second appointment is similar to your initial consultation, as it allows you to thoroughly discuss your condition with our chiropractor. He will then devise whether more treatment is needed and offer further advice on how to continue managing your wellbeing with a treatment plan.
